Hey....Little bird!!....fly away home....

By vydehibola · May 25, 2009 · 0 Comments · 31 Views

The little bird in this picture fell from his nest two days ago. He is hiding under the cars in parking lot and in the bushes to escape from the big birds. Yesterday, I saw some of the big birds troubling this little fellow. I felt the mamma bird also abandoned him and he will die without food.

So thought I will catch him and keep him safe until he gets wings to fly. But I don’t know how to do it. He is moving really fast. However, today morning I saw him sitting under a car and after some time a bird came to him and fed him with something. Aha….That’s a great relief. At least he is getting some food and being watched too. I am sure he will be OK now.

May be I am feeling too sensitive about this bird. I feed the birds around my house every day and always felt them as my pets. Is it  really possible to stay calm when your pet is in trouble?? I don't think so!! You will do all you can to save him. Anyway let’s wish that this little guy will grow his wings soon and fly away.

By vydehibola · May 23, 2009 · 2 Comments · 211 Views

Today I have been to the air show at Jones Beach, NY. Last year also i have attended this event and liked it a lot. This year's main attraction and the best performance was by USAF Thunderbirds. Last year the honor goes to Blue Angels.

There were many other great performances by F/A-18 Super Hornet, Canadian Forces Snowbirds and GEICO Skytypers etc.

Great weather...great crowd...great show...made a perfect outing.

On the way to Jones Beach....see through my sun glasses....lolz...

A poem on Brain-fever bird!!!

By vydehibola · May 19, 2009 · 0 Comments · 52 Views

I am reading a book titled "A Suitable Boy" by Vikram Seth, a famous novelist in India. I heard that he is a good poet too. Last night, while reading the book, I found this poem on page 949, about a brain-fever bird. As per the story this poem was written by a character whose name is Amit. He is an upcoming writer. He writes this poem in a letter to a girl named Lata, whom he likes a lot. He wants to make a good impression by showing his work to her. Anyway, I always feel that poetry is not my cup of tea...but somehow i liked this poem. May be the rhyming caught my attention or may be....i don't know what..!!..

I want you guys to leave a comment on this, as i want to know, how good...bad...worse....stupid this poem is?....some true critics please....:-)....

The fever bird sang out last night.
I could not sleep, try as I might.

My brain was split, my spirit raw.
I looked into the garden, saw

The shadow of the amaltas
Shake slightly on the moonlit grass.

Unseen, the bird cried out its grief,
its lunacy, without relief:

Three notes repeated closer, higher,
Soaring, then sinking down like fire

Only to breath the night and soar,
As crazed, as desperate, as before.

I shivered in the midnight heat
And smelt the sweat that soaked my sheet.

And now tonight i hear again
The call that skewers through my brain,

The call, the brain-sick triple note-
A bone of pain stuck in its throat.

I am so tired I could weep.
Mad bird, for God's sake let me sleep.

Why do you cry like one possessed?
When will you rest? when will you rest?

Why wait each night till all but I
Lie sleeping in the house, then cry?

Why do you scream into my ear
What no one else but I can hear?

I found this beautiful bed of pink petals, when I went out for a walk around my home today evening. I couldn’t resist myself doing…Click…Click…. :-)….. Three days of continuous rain had made all the petals fell from the tree and it made the ground beneath the tree look beautiful.
